After the long winter months, our houses may have weathered some wear and tear, but fear not—spring is the season of renewal, offering the ideal opportunity to refresh, revitalize, and rejuvenate our living spaces. Here are some of our top spring home maintenance tips:
Broken record alert: Don’t forget to change your furnace filter! If you haven’t changed it since December, it’s time to do it again! Regularly changing your filter can extend the life of your system!
While the weather is still cool, schedule a tune-up for your air conditioner. Allow the experts to do their part while you clear leaves, grass clippings, pollen, and other debris from the screen of the condensing unit.
Perform a deep clean of your freezer before summer hits (you'll need more room for ice cream!).
As we prepare for outdoor spring showers, you may have noticed your indoor shower head is no longer spraying evenly. If so, it is probably clogged with mineral deposits. Soak them away with a solution of half vinegar, and half water. You might even be able to do this without removing the shower head. Tie and tape a plastic bag with the solution around the head, and completely immerse the nozzles. Don’t soak the shower head for more than 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
Inspect your roof: Take a close look at your roofing to check for loose and missing shingles, worn and rusted flashing, and cracks. Take a look through a pair of binoculars from the ground to identify any issues. If you see anything concerning notify a roofer immediately to avoid costly damages from water.
